Origin: native cultivar, obtained through open pollination of the Nero cultivar.

The main characteristics and properties for which it is recommended:
- characterized by the high vigor of the bush with globular growth, stems with large branching.
- ripening period in the first half of August.
- high productivity, with yields during full fruiting period ranging between 7 and 10 kg/bush.
- berry fruits are medium to large in size, black-purple in color, round in shape, with a high content of soluble dry matter at 24.14%. The Melrom variety is characterized by a high content of anthocyanins.
- large fruit with dark burgundy flesh at maturity, with an average weight of 0.77 grams.
- harvesting period extending for 4-6 weeks as ripe fruits do not fall off the plant, remaining on the bush until late autumn.
Recommendations: it is recommended to be grown on fertile or moderately fertile soils. The fruits can be dried, then rehydrated during winter and used similarly to fresh ones.
