LABORATORY OF FRUIT SHRUBS

The Small Fruits and Strawberry Laboratory conducts research on a 6.5-hectare experimental field and in covered spaces using glass-fiber tunnels. The research includes various activities such as collections, contest trials, hybrid selection fields, and aspects of technology and plant propagation.

The laboratory focuses on studying and cultivating major berry species like strawberries, black, red, and white currants, raspberries, blackberries, highbush blueberries, and gooseberries, as well as minor species from both local and foreign origins such as sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), rose hip (Rosa spp.), blue honeysuckle (Lonicera caerulea var. edulis), elderberry (Sambucus spp.), cornelian cherry (Cornus mas) and others.
