Creation of new varieties with fruits quality and genetic resistance / tolerance to biotic and abiotic factors APPLE, PEAR, PLUMS, CHERRY AND SOUR CHERRY
BREEDING OF APPLE AND PEAR VARIETIES
Objectives
- Improving the selection technology of the hybrid material to shorten the breeding period;
- Breeding of new apple varieties that associate different functional genes of major resistance to scab, resistance / tolerance to powdery mildew; improving the fruits quality (commercial appearance, shape, color, taste, firmness, succulence); prolongation the period of storage and consumption;
- Breeding of new pear varieties with resistance to Psylla and fire blight, with winter maturation and high fruits quality.
Achievements
12 apple cultivars:
13 pear cultivars

BREEDING OF SWEET AND SOUR CHERRY VARIETIES
Objectives
- Breeding of sweet cherry varieties with large fruits (weight>10g and caliber>30 mm), firm pulp, attractive color, superior organoleptic qualities; resistance to diseases and frost; productivity; ripening times at the consumption season extremities; self-fertility.
- Breeding of sour cherry varieties with large fruits (weight>8g), firm, skin and colored juice; resistance to diseases; productivity; self-fertility.
