The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), the Research Institute for Fruit Growing, Pitesti, Romania (RIFG) and the Organizing Committee for the Second Balkan Symposium on Fruit Growing (II BSFG), are pleased to invite you to attend one of the most significant events for the fruit growing sector in Balkan area, from the 5th to 7th September, 2011. Objectives of the Institute

- Breeding new fruit trees, small fruits and strawberry cvs. and selection of new ornamental species;

- improving the cultural techniques regarding the thinning of fruit loud, fertilization, soil management and cultural practices;

- diseases pests and weed control management with less pollution;

- production of fruit and ornamental nursery stock of superior categories: prebasic, basic, and certified;

- enhanced studies for the genetic breeding and biotechnology involving the physiology and biochemistry areas;

- development and extension results in demonstrative fields and commercial forms.
