The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), the Research Institute for Fruit Growing, Pitesti, Romania (RIFG) and the Organizing Committee for the Second Balkan Symposium on Fruit Growing (II BSFG), are pleased to invite you to attend one of the most significant events for the fruit growing sector in Balkan area, from the 5th to 7th September, 2011. Research experimental network

At the national level, the Institute rules the fruit research activity of 7 Experimental R&D stations located in the most important fruit growing zones: Baneasa (apricot, peach), Bistrita (apple, sweet cherry), Buzau, Constanta (peach, apricot), Falticeni (apple, small fruits), Iasi (sweet cherry, apple), Mehedinti.

The Institute together with the Experimental Stations own 1,950 ha for the field experiments and nurseries of fruit and ornamental stock.

The scientific staff includes 68 research fellows, of which 24 carry on their work at the Institute.
